Story Trees Walk, with Brian Bredenkamp and Leon Visser

Prof Brian Bredenkamp is an emeritus professor in Forestry at Stellenbosch University. He also served on the ministerial advisory committee for the National Champion Tree Project. He also served for decades on the Stellenbosch Tree Advisory Committee and, in that role, investigated and advised on every removed tree. So, Brian can tell us the stories around nearly every tree😊.
Leon Visser, our other tour guide, is also an arborist working in tree care and tree surgery, but Leon has the added distinction of being an official tree climber of the SA Champion tree panel. He’s won numerous tree climbing competitions and has climbed (and discovered) various champion trees in South Africa.”
This is a flat 5-7 km route in and around the town centre. A good level of fitness is require as this will not be a slow walk.

Meeting place: in front of Krotoa building, SU’s International office side, corner of Victoria Street and Ryneveld Street. Parking available at Municipal parking area in front of Eikestad Mall, entrance from either Ryneveld street or Victoria street.
