Event Details
Afternoon Tea’s history is steeped in mystery, but many believe the origin can be traced all the way back to England in the late 1800s.
It was first popularized in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in the year 1840 when she would routinely grow hungry around 4pm and request a tray of tea, bread and butter. Friends began to join and by the end of the century the new trend was in full swing. Nowadays, afternoon tea is seen as an occasional treat and the perfect opportunity to celebrate special occasions and events.
Why not join Lanzerac for a glorious Afternoon Tea in the Manor Kitchen during Garden Town, where the streets of Stellenbosch’s and surrounding countryside will be transformed into a celebration of all thing’s flora.
