The most prestigious bonsai event on the continent takes place from 8-10 November in the Stellenbosch Town Hall.
Bonsai is the ancient oriental art of artistically designed trees in ceramic pots to create beautiful emotions.
The theme of the convention is The Ma in Bonsai which means that beauty is to be found in the open spaces and not by cluttering the canvas.
Two international trailblazers in bonsai, Elsa Boudouri from Italy and Jennifer Price from America, will explore this theme with top South African Bonsai artists.
A show of the best 200 bonsai in the region and country will be on display, there will be vendors, workshops and great demonstrators.
The show will be open to the public from 0900 to 1700 and experts will be on hand to discuss different aspects of this wonderful art from the East with an African flavour.
The convention is hosted by the African Bonsai Association in conjunction with the South African Bonsai Association and local clubs.
